Laerdal Global Health has signed a new partnership with the Africa Center of Excellence for Population Health and Policy (ACEPHAP) as part of a consortium implementing the Gates Foundation-funded Innovative Platform for MNCHN Innovation Delivery (Team OB/NEO) project in Northern Nigeria.

The three-year initiative will support maternal, newborn, child health, and nutrition outcomes across more than 190 health facilities in Bauchi, Jigawa, Kano, Katsina, and Yobe states, with the potential to positively impact more than 10 million women.

The partnership marks an important milestone in efforts to strengthen the quality of care available to mothers and newborns across the region. Through the project, consortium partners will work together to scale innovative approaches that improve healthcare delivery and health outcomes.

As part of the consortium, Laerdal Global Health will provide technical support focused on strengthening healthcare worker competency and clinical performance. This includes establishing simulation corners within health facilities, delivering structured simulation-based training, implementing digital learning tools, and supporting other program interventions designed to improve the quality of maternal and newborn care.

The initiative reflects Laerdal Global Health's commitment to helping healthcare workers save lives through effective education, continuous practice, and systems that support high-quality care.

By combining innovation, partnership, and capacity building, the program aims to strengthen health systems where they matter most: in health facilities, among healthcare workers, and ultimately for mothers, newborns, and families across Northern Nigeria.

This new collaboration demonstrates how partnerships can accelerate progress toward safer births, healthier newborns, and stronger health systems at scale in Nigeria.
