Laerdal Global Health is a family owned, not-for-profit company established in 2010 with the vision that No one should die or be disabled unnecessarily during birth
25 % of all deaths among children under 5 years of age, and almost 50 % of maternal deaths occur on day of birth. Most of these deaths are preventable. 95% occur in just 75 countries, referred to as the UN Millennium Development countdown countries.
To support these countries in their efforts to achieve the Millennium Development Goals 4 and 5 (i.e. to reduce child and maternal deaths), we develop needs based, robust and extremely affordable devices and training solutions such as the Helping Babies Breathe and Helping Mothers Survive programs. These programs are implemented at scale; through active partnerships in alliances such as Day of Birth Alliance, Survive & Thrive and Helping Babies Breathe Global Development Alliances.
|Our focal themes to help babies and mothers survive
