LGH Discussion Forum Brings Stakeholders from Around the World

Principle investigators of Helping Mothers Survive and Helping Babies Survive studies and representatives from global and US professional organizations collaborating on the development and implementation of these programs met in Stavanger on January 20-21, 2015 for a Discussion Forum co-hosted by the Laerdal Foundation and Laerdal Global Health. Participation included representation from five of the founding members of the Survive and Thrive Alliance.

Throughout the meeting there were several workshops which included improved ventilation (above images), improved labor management, improved fetal heart rate monitoring, and the simulation of vacuum assisted delivery (below).

There were many exciting moments and discussions throughout the entire workshop, one of which was when Abelone Melesse was the surprise guest at dinner! The LGH team is so grateful to all of our partners who were able to show up and bring their ideas to the table about implementation strategies and potential ideas around how to integrate HBS and HMS in the future.
